As part of the new blue zone management contract, awarded to EYSA in 2017, the installation of wireless U-Spot vehicle detection sensors in the spaces reserved for loading and unloading operations was raised as an improvement.
Thanks to a mobile application, the Local Police is informed in real time of usage infractions (exceeding the authorized 30 minutes) and can fine accordingly.
It thus avoids the need for vehicle-by-vehicle control which becomes difficult to manage when the maximum authorized parking time is so short.
Alerts are also sent in parallel to the Local Police Monitoring Center in order to improve resource management efficiency.
The project in Teruel consisted in deploying 82 parking spot sensors and using a mobile app to provide officers with alerts.
