Monitoring the parking in loading and unloading zones in Teruel to facilitate loading and unloading operations.
To ease vehicle-by-vehicle monitoring, which becomes difficult to manage when the maximum authorized parking time is short.
As part of the new blue zone management contract which was awarded to EYSA in 2017, there were plans to improve to installation of U-SPOT wireless vehicle detection sensors in the spots reserved for loading and unloading operations. Thanks to a mobile app, the local police are informed about infractions in real time (more than the 30 authorized minutes) and can then issue fines. This prevents the need for vehicle-by-vehicle monitoring, which becomes difficult to manage when the maximum authorized parking time is so short. The alerts are sent simultaneously to the Local Police Supervision Center in order to improve the efficiency of resource management.
The project in Teruel consisted in deploying 82 parking spot sensors and using a mobile app to provide officers with alerts.
