Urbiotica provides a global solution for Qatar through its partner Prime Park Services, which includes the national Smart Parking platform for the monitoring and management of 28,000 parking spaces. The provided smart parking platform collects information from the company’s own sensors as well as from other parking areas to provide global and real-time information on the availability of parking spaces.
The launch of the new smart parking service is part of the five smart sectors included in the Smart Qatar (TASMU) program. The inauguration of this new service is the result of concerted efforts between government entities, including the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Municipalities and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).
“The launch of the Smart Parking project is an important step towards Smart Qatar, as it provides sustainable benefits and technologies to our community in Qatar” according to the statements of His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology in Hukoomi.
The aim of this project is to turn Qatar into a smart city that can offer a unified digital experience to drivers and parking owners in Qatar. In addition, with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 taking place at the end of November, this new smart parking system will allow the city to welcome its visitors in an optimal way and avoid the chaos caused by the search for parking. As a result, traffic congestion and pollution will be considerably reduced.
In order to offer a complete experience, the TASMU app has been developed and is available on the App Store and Google Play. It is the new smart parking service that provides users with real-time information on available parking spaces and guides them directly to them through their cell phones.
The Smart Parking service contains parking spaces in adjacent parking lots on roads and vital areas, such as Corniche and West Bay, in addition to parking spaces in Souq Waqif, Al Bidaa Park, Corniche, Gate Mall, Lusail, Msheireb New parking lots will be added to the app soon.
