Qatar offers a new Smart Parking experience for the FIFA 2022 World Cup.   

Urbiotica provides a global solution for Qatar with its partner Prime Park Services, which includes the national Smart Parking platform for the monitoring and management of 28,000 parking spaces. The smart parking platform provided gathers information from the company’s own sensors as well as those of other parking areas to provide global and real-time information on the availability of parking spots. 

The launch of the new smart parking service is part of the five smart sectors included in the Smart Qatar (TASMU) programme. This new service is the result of concerted efforts between government entities, including the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Municipalities and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).   

“The launch of the Smart Parking project is an important step towards Smart Qatar, as it provides sustainable benefits and technologies to our community in Qatar” according to His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology declarations in Hukoomi. 

The aim of this project is to turn Qatar into a smart city able to offer a unified digital experience to drivers and parking owners in Qatar. In addition, with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 taking place at the end of November, this new smart parking system will allow the city to welcome its visitors in an optimal way and avoid the chaos caused while trying to find a parking space. As a result, traffic congestion and related pollution will be considerably reduced. 

In order to offer a complete experience, the TASMU app has been developed and is available on the App Store and Google Play. It is the new smart parking service that provides users with real-time information on available parking spots and guides them directly to them through their mobile phones.   

The Smart Parking service includes parking bays in adjacent car parks in roads and vital areas, such as Corniche and West Bay, in addition to parkings  in Souq Waqif, Al Bidaa Park, Corniche, Gate Mall, Lusail, Msheireb. New car parks will be added to the app in the near future.
