Mangualde boosts smart mobility with its new Smart Parking system
The municipality of Mangualde faced the challenge of managing urban parking more efficiently. As in many cities, the prolonged occupation of parking spaces and the lack of real-time information made mobility and access to reserved spaces such as loading and unloading, PRM and electric vehicles difficult.
The municipality’s objective was to implement a technological solution that would optimize parking management, improve mobility and reduce traffic congestion.
To address this challenge, Mangualde has implemented a Smart Parking system, developed by Urbiotica in collaboration with Soltrafego. The solution includes the installation of more than 550 sensors in the parking spaces of the urban center, integrated with the movmangualdeAPP application.
Thanks to this technology, drivers can be guided to available spaces in real time, facilitating parking and reducing congestion in the busiest areas. In addition, the system enables better management of reserved spaces, ensuring that spaces for loading and unloading, PRM and electric vehicles are used correctly. The use of this technology also enables the collection of key data on parking patterns, helping the municipal administration to make decisions based on objective information to improve urban mobility.
