The challenge
Guided parking in Calvià to reduce the amount of vehicles circulating in the access to the beach and leisure areas in search of parking space.
Calvià is a great tourist destination located in the southwest of Mallorca and where the Smart Island Congress, a global event that receives more than 1 million visitors each year, has been held since 2017.
The solution
The project in Calvià consisted of deploying U-Spot sensors in the parking spaces and at the same time signage panels.
The beach and entertainment areas were equipped with wireless, autonomous U-Spot sensors in the parking spaces, along with digital message signs at the key decision points for drivers. They also have an app that shows the availability of spaces for persons with reduced mobility, as well as spaces for other users.
