Alonsotegi optimizes free parking control with IoT sensors
Alonsotegi, like many other localities, faced a common problem in time-limited free parking zones: the incorrect use of parking spaces by drivers. The lack of effective control made it difficult to comply with the regulations and generated insufficient rotations, reducing availability for other users.
The municipality’s objective was to ensure a fair and regulated use of these places, promoting rotation and avoiding abuses, but without renouncing to free service and simple management.
Urbiotica, in collaboration with the integrator Euskotelecom, has implemented an intelligent system based on M2M IoT sensors for the control of parking areas for a limited time.
Each parking space equipped with a sensor allows detecting the actual use of the space. Through an app, users can easily declare their parking, and the system automatically notifies the municipal operator if the maximum allowed time is exceeded.
All information is centralized in the U-Admin platform, from where it can be monitored in real time, analyze usage patterns and act swiftly in the event of any infringement.
