Valencia has not only expanded its intelligent parking system: it has taken it to another level. With the installation of 2,750 new M2M sensors, the city has reinforced the control of its most sensitive areas, consolidating one of the most extensive detection networks in the country. This new deployment focuses on loading and unloading spaces (CyD) and those reserved for people with reduced mobility (PRM), key spaces for urban fluidity and daily accessibility.
This expansion does not come from scratch. It is part of a solid urban transformation strategy that Valencia has been working on for years. Now, with more than 4,000 monitored parking spaces in total, the city is making a qualitative leap in the management of regulated parking. C&D and PRM zones are now monitored throughout the year, and cab zones are also added, which, although they do not generate alerts, provide a complete view of the real use of urban space.
The goal is clear: to facilitate compliance with regulations, increase vehicle turnover where it is most needed, and provide citizens with an infrastructure that works efficiently. All of this is managed from the intelligent parking platform, which enables alerts to be triggered, real-time monitoring to be carried out and each parking space to become a source of useful data for better planning.
Collaboration with PavaPark has been key in this expansion phase. Together, they have managed to deploy a robust, connected system that is ready to continue growing. Because in cities like Valencia, every square meter counts, and every piece of data adds up.
This expansion not only improves efficiency. It changes the way we understand public space. More order, more accessibility and fairer mobility in a city that is committed to innovation and sustainability.
